NIH Medical Research Scholars Program webinar
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) is hosting a webinar at 3 p.m. EST Nov. 20 to discuss the application process with students and faculty.
The NIH MRSP provides a unique opportunity for second, third, and fourth-year medical, dental, and veterinary students from diverse backgrounds to work with an NIH investigator on a research project, learn new skills, and get to know like-minded peers. Scholars have access to a wide variety of lab settings and to state-of-the-art research and medical facilities.
This comprehensive, 12-month closely-mentored research enrichment program is designed to attract creative, research-oriented students. Scholars live on the NIH intramural main campus in Bethesda, Maryland and receive a stipend.
NIMHD is proud to collaborate on the NIH MRSP for a second year. Our goal is to introduce the program to medical, dental, and veterinary students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and encourage them to consider biomedical research as a career.
Application for the 2016-2017 program cycle is open October 1, 2015-January 15, 2016. Eligible students can apply at: http://www.nimhd.nih.gov/programs/collab/MRSP.html through Jan. 15.
NIMHD is available to assist prospective applicants through the process. To discuss the application process with an NIMHD staff member, contact: MRSP-NIMHD@mail.nih.gov.
