Participants sought for study of advisers for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

The Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking participants for a survey about on the lab research experiences of advisers and deaf or hard-of-hearing students.

Austin U. Gehret, an assistant professor at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at RIT, told us that participants should:

(1) have limited or no signing ability and

(2) have advised a deaf or hard-of-hearing student in the past three years.

Those who meet those two criteria are asked to email Please include in your message the name and email address of the student with whom you worked.

Gehret will send the survey, which has been approved by RIT’s institutional review board office, to volunteers by the end of this month.
