Write about your neuro research to compete for $25,000
Since 2016, the journal Science and PINS Medical have teamed up to run an annual essay contest for researchers working on neuromodulation. The submission deadline for the 2019 prize is March 15.
If you have conducted research that “modulates neural activity through physical (electrical, magnetic, optical) stimulation of targeted sites in the nervous system with implications for translational medicine” in the past three years, submit a 1,500-word essay about it for a chance to win $25,000 and have your essay published in Science.
We recommend checking out past winning essays before submitting:
- 2017 grand prize winner Meaghan Creed wrote “Toward a targeted treatment for addiction.”
- 2018 grand prize winner Nir Grossman wrote “Modulation without surgical intervention.”
We also noticed an important caveat on the prize website:
Chemical stimulation is not one of the categories being evaluated for 2019; there was an erroneous print advertisement in editions of Science in December 2018 and January 2019.
