Apply for NIH health disparities institute by March 22
The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities is accepting applications through March 22 from postdoctoral fellows and new investigators for its Health Disparities Research Institute, which will be held Aug. 12–16 in Bethesda, Md.
The institute is competitive, but those selected attend for free. Note, that most attendees must cover their own transportation and lodging, as scholarships for travel expenses are limited.
The institute will offer the following:
- lectures/seminars on etiology of health disparities
- methods and measurements
- intervention and implementation research
- small group discussions
- mock grant review

This program is intended for early-stage research investigators. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D./D.O., Sc.D., Dr.P.H., Pharm.D., Psy.D., DDS/DMD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution. Applications will only be accepted from post-doctoral fellows, assistant professors, or early-stage investigators in comparable research positions who are actively engaged in minority health and health disparities research and who plan to submit a K or R grant to NIH within the next 12 months.
